Kalina Suter
Kalina is a dance trapeze artist and coach who guides artists and movers in unearthing their creative style. She grew up in the Appalachian forests of West Virginia where trick riding, dancing, and tree climbing fostered an early love of instinctive movement. As Kalina got older, these creative outlets were replaced by the study of contemporary dance, ballet, and physical theatre in the US, Switzerland, and the UK. She took up circus arts in 2009 in Edinburgh, Scotland, which led her to study at both the Rogelio Rivel Circus School in Barcelona and the New England Center for Circus Arts, where she specialised in dance trapeze and flexibility.
Over the years Kalina developed her own approach to dance trapeze, born from a desire to feel free and organic in her movement on trapeze. Her experimental approach led her to travel, teach, and perform in Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, UK, and throughout Europe. Kalina teaches her methods through her dance trapeze mentorship program Unearthed, where she helps other aerialists and artists cultivate their unique style and creativity.
She currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland.
