WARM UP
Dance – Warm up
9.00am – 10.00am – Space A, Atrium
Week 1 – Tutor Magalie Lanriot – Improver and Up
A festival hit every year this class will ease you gently into your day. Beginning with a floor warm that pays attention to sensation, initiation and weight we’ll then expand into exploring balance and falling off of it finding ease of movement in and out of the floor.
Drawing from release and yoga, this class culminates with learning phrases to find control, abandon and fluidity.
NB you should have some dance experience to join this class.
9.00am – 10.00am – Space A, Atrium
Week 2 – Tutor Lee Clayden – All Levels
Easing you gently into your day, we’ll begin with a floor warm, checking in with where you’re at; sensing and listening, before shifting into encouraging more heat into the body as we move into and around the space.
A really fun class of simple led sequences and suggestions for travelling across the floor and through life.
Yoga – All levels
9.00am – 10.00am – Week 1
Space B, Chandelier 1 – Tutor KJ Mortimer
KJ’s Yoga class is able to supply dual focus… warming the body for those starting their practice or warm down the body to those closing practice for the day. The class focuses on connection to your body, finding warmth, reach, balance and clear body awareness. KJ leads a series of flowing asanas to work with the range of movement, working on agility and co-ordination.
If you have a yoga or exercise mat please bring that with you.
The Kinstretch® Method – All levels
9.00am – 10.00am – Week 2
Space B, Chandelier 1 – Tutor Laura Pero
Full body CARs (Controlled Articular Rotations)
Mobilising and activating each joint in isolation as a way to ignite and strengthen our functional movement capacities in preparation for any physical activity. CARs will build your understanding of your functional joint capacity and how, maintaining it daily, can serve your chosen skill practice.
By the end of this week CARs will become the ‘daily tooth brushing’ morning routine equivalent, for your joints and your fundamental movement health.
General Warmup – All Levels
9.00am – 10.00am – Week 1
Space F, Stage– Tutor Iliana Atamaniuk
I propose a warm up that will allow you to be prepared for the day of training, more specifically aerial training. It is very important to be grounded before going in the air, so we will work mostly on the floor mixing it up so cardiovascular, mobility, articulation, strength exercises.
What you need to know is that we will also dance so you won’t feel that you are warming up !!
9.00am – 10.00am – Week 2
Space F, Stage – Tutor Laila Umeko
Let’s be up bright and early to warm up for a day spent dancing around. This warm up will be more specifically aimed at getting you ready for aerial training. I like to cheat my way around cardio, we’ll be doing some shaking most mornings (if you don’t know what that is come find out!). You can also expect mobility and articulation work, some friendly strength exercises and maybe a game or two to make sure we start the day with a laugh. See you there!
VAYU Aerial Yoga® Class – All levels
9.00am – 10.00am – Week 1
Space D, Chandelier 2 (free-standing rig) – Tutor Lee Clayden
An aerial yoga practice created by Ana Prada, the focus of this class will be to open and connect the body slowly and becoming aware of the breath.
The VAYU practice takes the body to a much deeper level. Using the support of the swing we are able to challenge the body moving through various postures, as well as allowing the nervous system to relax, encouraging a letting go into complete surrender Preparing and re-setting the body in a supported, intelligent manner.
Lee has worked extensively with Ana and teaches the aerial yoga pre-training alongside her, he also has a long-standing yoga practice.
This class is open to all levels.
9.00am – 10.00am – Week 2
Space D, Chandelier 2 (free-standing rig) – Tutor Ana Prada
VAYU Aerial Yoga® is an active restorative practice that helps and allows people to connect and open their body in a gentle and organic way.
The VAYU Swing is a support system and a therapeutic tool, used to mobilise and ‘unglue’ the body, using the principles of opposition, working at a myofascial level, creating space, alignment, and deep connection within the body as well as allowing the nervous system to switch to parasympathetic mode, simply put – to relax.
