LYRA AKA AERIAL HOOP
Hoop – Improver and up
12pm – 1.30pm – Week 1
Space F, Stage – Tutor Iliana Atamaniuk
Here we will learn the basics of dynamics, trying to figure out the mechanics and how to feel safe within that. We’ll also work on dynamic sequences with some improvisation work so that you can be YOU in the air !!
Pre- requisites: A good knowledge of most simple positions and to be comfortable with transferring between them. A basic knowledge of dynamic movement isn’t essential but is recommended.
Hoop – Intermediate and up
10.15am – 11.45am – Week 2
Space F, Stage- Tutor Jenny Tufts
Jenny will be sharing sections of her favorite repertoire, which heavily feature using spin technique to create seamless transitions, illusions, and isolations. Shaped by Ireland’s general lack of ceiling height, Jenny’s choreography has a strong focus on top bar / rope work. Please come with layers to protect your legs, midriff, and elbows, and be prepared to spin!
Pre requisites: Students should have a consistent aerial hoop practice, be able to invert comfortably and repeatedly by themselves (not jumping off the floor), and a deep love for spinning.
