Kate Dunne
Kate is an Irish aerial silks and rope artist based in Lisbon, Portugal. She is one of the co-founders of the Lisbon Silks Meet (2025) and was a coach and performer at the inaugural Lisbon Rope Meet (2024).
She co-hosts “Vertical Play” with collaborator Emmen Donnelly—an explorative and playful vertical workshop blending technical repertoire with creative movement. Since its launch in Belfast (2023), Vertical Play has toured across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Greece, Austria and Poland, offering a creative approach to aerial learning.
Kate’s teaching experience extends beyond Europe, including a two-month residency at Bliss Circus, India (2023) as a verticals coach and researcher in Palestine (2020, 2022). In Ireland, she has been the Advanced Fabric Tutor at the Irish Aerial Dance Festival (2023, 2024) and a guest artist at the Belfast Rope Meeting (2023, 2024).
Beyond workshops, Kate coaches aerial students online, offers private 1:1 sessions, and teaches mat and reformer Pilates. She also creates and performs contemporary circus works and serves as an outside eye and mentor for other artists.
